About the Solution Architect position
The Salesforce Solution Architects are responsible for pre-sales scoping, estimating and designing of proposed best practice Salesforce solutions. Additionally, the Solution Architects are acting as solution leads that drive best practice methodologies and solutions while facilitating client facing key business requirements sessions, provide quality assurance across sales and service implementation and data integration efforts. The Solution Architect will work closely with the sales team and with prospects to understand their business challenges and uncover existing gaps in their sales/service/custom processes as well as data integration needs. From those sessions, the Solution Architect will work with their delivery team to suggest and design best practice prototypes and options for the clients to view during iterative and interactive prototyping and design sessions. As needed, the Solution Architect will produce documentation around project scope, requirements, design and proposals.
As a Certified Salesforce individual, the Solution Architect should very comfortably and confidently balance both technical and business input to recommend and present best practice solutions and implementation approaches that have the highest long term business impact for our clients. The Solution Architect has deep expertise implementing Salesforce solutions and functionality while being a key liaison between internal sales and delivery teams as well as client facing IT teams and business stakeholders during the implementation phase.
Responsibilities
- Translates customer business objectives and requirements into best practice solution design and level-of-effort estimates to implement those solutions
- Provides technical support and expert input in sales calls and solution presentations
- Provides input for RFI and RFP responses and including proposed estimates, suggested project team, project timeline, implementation approach and solution design
- Acts as the trusted advisor to assigned customers by understanding the customer’s needs
- Validate technical recommendations against customer business requirements and assist with preparing statements of work
- Develop best practice Salesforce solution options and prototypes via interactive and iterative customer facing design and review sessions
- Facilitate sessions with clients to gather, understand, and define core business requirements
- Act as lead to team members to optimize designs and solution that will provide a high impact business solution for the client
- Offer best practice suggestions for various configuration options from design sessions within Salesforce and AppExchange products, or other cloud-based technologies
- Collaborate with developer team to design and test custom developed functions that will support the business requirements while ensuring ease of administration and maintenance
- Analyze and review customer data so the delivery team can effectively map, transform, cleanse and migrate source data and related hierarchies into Salesforce instances
- Support and deliver as needed solution quality assurance and testing
Requirements

- Self-starter and team player passionate about delivering the highest level of client satisfaction
- Hands on and expert experience configuring Salesforce including workflows, validation rules, security controls, objects, reports, dashboards among other items
- Detail-oriented individual with the ability to quickly ramp up on and understand new client business processes
- Highly professional presentation, communication (written and verbal) skills, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks within a highly collaborative team environment
- Demonstrates flexibility and willingness to do what it takes to get the job done
- Officially hold at 3+ current Salesforce certifications
- Studies and/or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS, DBA or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 6+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, System Administrator or Systems Consultant for a mid-to-large sized organization working on implementing cloud-based technologies
- Comfortable with enterprise integration tools and extract, transformation and load (ETL) tools
- Experience with Salesforce custom development
- Located and able to work in the U.S. from a home office and able to travel occasionally
- Must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer
